Our seconds log slices are still charming, rustic and fully usable, but they may have more noticeable natural flaws than our standard quality slices.
These imperfections may include larger cracks, filled areas, knots, uneven bark, marks, or natural surface variations. We will always do our best to place the engraving in the best available area, away from the most visible flaws where possible. In many cases, the cake, cake board, flowers or centrepiece decorations will cover the imperfect areas once displayed.
Seconds are a great budget-friendly choice if you are happy with a more rustic finish, or if you plan to use the slice as a cake base, under decorations, or as part of a larger centrepiece design.
The personalised log slice can be used as the base structure for your own wedding cake display or table centrepiece. Add your own flowers, candles, styling pieces or decorations to create a finished look that matches your theme.
Each slice can be engraved with your chosen wording. The engraving is permanently marked into the wood, so the wording will not fade or peel off.
Please note: this is a natural wood product, so every slice will vary in shape, grain, bark texture and markings. Cracks, filled sections and other natural imperfections are to be expected, especially with the seconds option. We will always aim to position the engraving clearly and avoid the most imperfect areas where possible.
